A Promise Kept

Join us for our Messy Church session this July, as we explore a powerful and moving story from the Bible, The Shunammite’s Son (2 Kings 4).

In this story, we meet a kind woman who shows great hospitality to Elisha, the prophet of God. She welcomes him into her home and cares for him, not expecting anything in return.

But God sees her kindness.

Through Elisha, she is given an unexpected promise—a son. And in time, that promise comes true.

However, the story doesn’t end there…

One day, her son becomes suddenly unwell and dies. In her grief and confusion, she doesn’t give up—she goes straight to Elisha, trusting that God can still do something, even in the most difficult moment.

What follows is an incredible miracle:

• A promise given
• A life that seemed lost
• A child restored

This story reminds us that God is present not only in the joyful moments, but also in the hardest times. It shows us that we can bring our pain, our questions, and our hope to God—and trust Him with the outcome.

Together, we’ll explore what it means to trust God through every season, and how His care for us goes deeper than we can see.
